Neustift in Austria Resort Guide
Neustift is the main village in the Stubai valley and is a typically beautiful Tyrolean alpine village built around the classic church centre. As more and more snowsports enthusiasts come to take advantage of the snowsure Stubai upper runs, so Neustift has expanded to become a modern ski village which retains an ageless traditional village atmosphere. 500 years ago it was the hunting centre for the Emperor Maximilian and he had the St George's Chapel, or Neu Stift (New Church) built.
Accomodation & Après Ski
Neustift's apres ski is relaxed and informal, revolving around a few decent bars and the Rumpl nightclub. There are a range of good and modestly priced restaurants serving international, local and Italian cuisine. Neustift has a good, big leisure centre with a swimming pool complex and there is skating and curling available. Childcare is available in Neustift for ages 3-8. Innsbruck is half an hour away by buses from the valley and by train from Innsbruck.
